Electronic Vessel Control is Volvo Penta’s common electronic platform. Based on the same CAN-bus technology used in ships, planes and cars, EVC provides total integration between engines, controls and instrumentation. All the information is distributed on one CAN-bus backbone. This radiacally reduces the amount of wiring and connectors required, leading to much higher reliability and a much simpler installation.

Volvo Penta EVC provides precise, reliable and flexible instrumentation. Plug in connection enable simple  installation. Instruments can be installed at up to four different places in the boat. As  EVC is compatiable with NMEA2000 standard, engine data can even be displayed in a compatible chart plotter, fish finder, radar ETC.   

Volvo Penta EVC offers improved functionality as standard or option. Electronic shift and throttle, trip metre and built in safety functions that actively monitor and protect the engines, give you better safety, comfort and driving economy.

EVC Accessories that improve your boating 

Trip Computer: Helps you plan your driving. One instrument can display trip data such as trip time, trip distance, fuel consumption, average and instant fuel rates, distance to empty and fuel econonmy.

Powertrim Assistant :  The power trim assistant trims the the drive during acceleration to get the boat quickly on to the plan. Then the drive is gradually trimmed out to give a perfect running attitude. Settings are adjustable for personal preference and there is a manual over ride.

Low Speed mode: When engaged low speed mode allows you to drive a slow as you want by reducing low speed propulsion by a further 50~70%. Easy maneuvering in tight marinas and canals and assists in safe and easy docking.

Cruise Control: Allows the driver to establish a specific speed for the boat to proceed, without  the the need to manually adjust the throttle in order to maintain the desired speed. Fine tuning adjustments can be done at the touch of a button.

Tow Mode: Makes tubing, wake boarding and water skiing easier and safer. When engaged EVC Tow Mode will automatically accelerate to and maintain your predetermined engine RPM, even when turning or experiencing bumpy conditions.
